Guest Speakers
Thank you for your desire to serve as a guest speaker and agreeing to share your expertise and experience at a meeting of the Moorpark Morning Rotary Club.
We like to promote our speakers ahead of the meetings on social media and through our email system. No later than one week before the meeting please provide a short bio and headshot.
Our meetings are held every Thursday at Freda's Moorpark, located at: 233 E. High Street #100 in Moorpark.
High Street in Moorpark. Our members start to arrive about 7:00 am. Meetings start promptly at 7:15 am and conclude at 8:15 am. You are our guest - so when you arrive, enjoy your FREE breakfast!
The president of the club will announce you as a guest at the beginning of the meeting and then will do a more formal introduction using your bio when it is time for you to speak.
Our club does "Happy Dollars" that support local scholarships. We ask that each member share something happy going on in their life. You are not required to give money, but do be prepaired to share something happy in your life.
The guest speaker is normally introduced about 7:45 am. Club members expect our speakers to make a 20-25 minute presentation, followed by a few minutes of questions and answers. Please do your best to conclude your presentation by 8:15 am. Many members must leave for work or other meetings. You may stay after the meeting and meet with members that wish to stay longer with questions.
Our club has 20-30 members and guests in attendance at any given meeting. Handouts for club members are always welcome. However, there are no copy facilities in the meeting room so you will need to bring handouts if they are required for your presentation.
The club does have have a projector available, however we have to plan ahead to have it set up. Presenters will need to use their own computer and arrive early to test the system. If you want to use the projector please let the president of the club know a week in advance.
We ask that your presentation avoid overt sales. Making a "sales pitch" or directly soliciting purchases or donations is not in the spirit of Rotary. A brief mention of ways to give or volunteer is fine.
Rotary is a non-political and non-religious organization open to all people regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or political preference. We ask that our speakers steer clear of partisan topics that would alienate anyone.
Please let the Rotarian who invited you know if you have specific needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
THANK YOU. We look forward to your visit and your presentation.
