Darren is the Executive Director of the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC). He started with VCTC in October 2007. Darren has lead his staff with focused efforts on improved transportation planning to ensure the wise investment of transportation funds helping to prioritize those limited transportation funds on a wide range of transportation projects, ranging from major highway projects to bicycle and pedestrian projects and bus and rail projects and operations.
Darren's accomplishments as executive director include a new free emergency roadside assistance program, engineering for the planned addition of carpool lanes to Highway 101 from Thousand Oaks to Ventura, expansion of the commission's intercity bus service, widening of Highway 23 between Moorpark and Thousand Oaks, and widening of the Highway 101/23 interchange in Thousand Oaks.
Darren has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
