New Season, New Opportunities!

Friends,

This year has certainly not been like any of us expected, but I am super proud of our club and our members engagement. Our meeting attendance is up, we have welcomed three new members this year and maintained all our exiting members. We have also had good participation in our service projects, helping make our community a better place.

As always, I would encourage each of you to reach out to a friend and invite them to share in the fellowship and service that makes our club so special. There is no pressure to join, simply an opportunity to meet new people and see if the club is a good fit for them.

There are still a few of you who are not using our GroupMe texting app. Please reach out if you have questions about this as it is a great tool to help members stay engaged with each other and provide additional updates throughout the week.

All the best, Chris Barrett

Welcome Our Newest Member!

Last month we welcomed Pat Abruzzese as the newest member of our club. Pat is a past president of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise and was last a member of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning. Pat is also the District 5240 Grant Chair.  I look forward to learning from him how we can be more involved with grants and make an even greater impact through that process.

October Rotary Social

This month we will be having a pumpkin carving contest.  This can be done individually and submitted with a photo or we will be coordinating a time when we can get together and carve together outside observing proper social distance protocols.

All photos will be added to a facebook post for the community to judge. There will be prizes for the winners! Dates and additional details to come.

October Community Service

Due to the restrictions placed on trick or treating this year, our club has volunteered to make 1,300 tick or treat candy bags to go in all the boxes distributed by Ruben Castro Charities the week before Halloween. We will be sending out a date where we will get together and stuff bags and we will also be looking for members to donate bags of candy.

Tierra Rejada Road Cleanup

Thank you to all those who joined us last weekend. We had an awesome turnout and were done in record time.
