What a fun summer we had making the best of this pandemic situation. I am excited that we were able to add two new members in the month of August with Pauline Pitman returning to the club and the welcoming of Jessie Gregson last week! Please invite guests to our meetings, Zoom is proving to be a great opportunity to expose more people to our club!
We also had a very successful turnout to our service project at Ruben Castro Charities where we prepared boxes of food for 320 families. Thank you to all that were able to make it. We hope to strengthen our partnership with them moving forward and help even more with their important work for our community.
There are still a few of you who are not using our GroupMe texting app. Please reach out if you have questions about this as it is a great tool to help members stay engaged with each other and provide additional updates throughout the week.
This month we are planning an in person ice cream social. Details are to come as we secure a location/vendor but everything will be outdoor and observing proper social distance protocols.
September Community Service
To help those struggling to find reliable internet to do classes, calls or whatever their needs may be, we have created a website/app projectconnect.us. Please take a few minutes to add in any publicly accessible internet you are aware of throughout Moorpark. Doug Barrett has already built the app and is in the process of getting it submitted to the app stores. More details about this project will be discussed at our coming meetings.
