Janet Stuhr is currently the Team Manager for the Thousand Oaks office of the CA Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). The Department of Rehabilitation is a state agency that assists individuals with disabilities to achieve successful careers in their community. Services provided include financial assistance with attending school or vocational training, including books and supplies, assistive technology, transportation assistance, job development and placement. On-the-job training programs, Supported Employment, and ongoing counseling and guidance. There is also a special program, Student Services, that helps students ages 16-21 to explore careers, plan for their future, and participate in paid work experiences with local employers in their community to gain valuable work skills.
Janet has a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy, and masters degrees in Gerontology and Rehabilitation Counseling. She has worked as a music therapist at Camarillo State Hospital, and as a Rehabilitation Counselor and Manager for the Department of Rehabilitation for the past 25 years.
Janet is a Moorpark resident, and has been an active volunteer in youth sports, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and music activities in her community.
