Born and raised in India with a compass in her mouth, she had traveled the world with her parents on merchant ships by the time she turned 16. She moved to NY at 21 and worked at the iconic 2 World Trade Center for 2 years.
In 2001 after graduating from Pepperdine University with an MBA, she fell into, and in love with fundraising. She earned her CFRE in February 2020; making her one of only 6,300 fundraisers worldwide to hold this designation. She is passionate about fundraising and selfcare and loves inspiring people to put the oxygen mask on themselves first.
Although she has fundraised for causes ranging from human services to historic preservation it is the arts that haveher heart. She is the fundraiser for TOArts the official nonprofit and presenting partner of the Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks.
TOArts core programs include:
Presenting the community with world class performers (Chicago, REO Speedwagon, National Geographic Speaker Series, Boston Pops etc.)
Hosting 3,000 Title I students a year to see a live production; many for whom this is a first time visit to the theatre
Supporting local performing arts groups through theatre credits which enables them to perform on a world-class stage at a lower cost.
We are currently in conversation with CVUSD to provide arts education in the curriculum for all elementary schools in Conejo Valley and hope that in the next few year, we can extend this support to all elementary schools in Ventura County. It’s a known fact that when funding is cut; the arts are the first to go especially for elementary school age kids. We aspire to provide high quality, equal access and sequential arts education to all Ventura County elementary schools.
