Bill Thomas retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years as a Naval Officer and Naval Aviator with 4500 Flight hours and 543 Carrier landings. His Navy assignments alternated between Operational Tours in Light Attack (A-7s), and Weapons Test and Evaluation/Instructor. The last six years of his Naval career were spent serving as Flight Test Officer and Program Manager of Cruise Missile Flight Test at Naval Air Warfare Center, Point Mugu, Ca.
Bill joined Northrop at the Newbury Park facility in August 1988, and served in various business development positions, (Cruise Missiles, Special Projects, Targets, and UAVs). In January 1994, Bill was appointed as Manager Business Development for Northrop Grumman Targets, which included both Northrop Grumman and later the Teledyne Ryan Targets. In March 2002, Bill joined the Northrop’s Situational Awareness Systems in Woodland Hills providing Integrated Avionics Systems (H-1and E-2D cockpit systems) to the US Navy and USMC.
Following retirement in 2012, Bill now serves as the President of the A-7 Corsair II Association, Air Boss of the Wings over Camarillo Air Show, a Young Eagle pilot with the EAA, and member of the Ventura Habitat for Humanity work crew, all 501(c)(3) non-profits. Bill is a resident of Camarillo, CA with a Cessna Cardinal based at Camarillo Airport.
